JOHN'S ACCUPHY

The after-fishing tick check

It takes two minutes when you get home. Do it after every trip, even short ones.

  1. Treat clothes with permethrin

Spray boots, socks and pants before the trip and let them dry. Use DEET or picaridin on skin.

  2. Check the hiding spots

Behind the knees, the waistband, underarms, behind the ears and along the hairline.

  3. Remove it the right way

Grab it close to the skin with fine-tipped tweezers and pull straight up with steady pressure.

  4. Tumble your clothes

Ten minutes in a hot dryer kills ticks hiding in dry clothing.

General guidance based on CDC recommendations. See a doctor if you get a rash or fever after a bite.

Hi, I'm John.

I've been fishing [local lakes and rivers] since [year / age]. Every shop I went to had the hooks. None of them had the tick protection I needed to get to the water. So I started Tick & Tackle to sell both.

I only carry what I use. If you're not sure what you need, email me. I'd rather talk you out of something than sell you the wrong thing.
